Azerbaijani chess player Gunay Mammadzade won the international tournament "The Belt and Road 2023 to World Chess Woman's Summit" held in Xi'an, China.

According to Qazet.az reports by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Gunay Mammadzade, who scored 8.5 points after 11 rounds, was awarded a gold medal in the first tournament he participated in the new year.

Bibisara Assaubayeva (Kazakhstan) with the same score finished the race in the second place according to additional indicators.

It should be noted that 12 chess players from seven countries participated in the tournament.
