"I am sure that Azerbaijan will soon become a reliable supplier of electricity to Europe."

Qazet.az reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this at the commissioning ceremony of the Greece-Bulgaria Interconnector (IGB) in Sofia.

"Azerbaijan has been a reliable supplier of oil to the international markets and, first of all, to the European markets for many years, and now it has become a reliable supplier of gas. Commenting on what Mrs. President (Chairwoman of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen) said about renewable energy sources, I would like to say that this is both is also part of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership in the field of energy between the European Union and the Republic of Azerbaijan" signed in July of this year. I am sure that Azerbaijan will soon become a reliable supplier of electricity to Europe," the head of state said.
