Head of State Duma Committee: Memory of Heydar Aliyev will live through ages

The memory of the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev will live through ages, Leonid Slutsky, a member of Russia's State Duma, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs said, Qazet.az reports.

He noted that modern Azerbaijan stands on the foundation created by National Leader Heydar Aliyev: "Today we celebrate the Day of Remembrance of the founder of modern Azerbaijan, a man who did a lot for the Soviet Union and for the high-tech industry, for the development of the most important sectors and areas of the Soviet economy. Today's Azerbaijan is a country where you want to live. Remembering Heydar Alievich, I would like to say that today the ideas and plans that he laid down are being implemented. Azerbaijan has long become an energy-independent state, supplying energy to many countries of the world. Karabakh returned home, and this bleeding, the most terrible conflict in the South Caucasus has been resolved. Heydar Aliyev can be fully proud of his son, who continues the work of his father and confidently leads his people and country along the path of prosperity."

Slutsky stressed that Azerbaijan is Russia's most reliable partner: "Today the world knows, loves and respects Azerbaijan."

Today marks the Day of Remembrance of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev. Nineteen years have passed since his death.
