Heavy rains trigger landslides and kills more than 15 in Uganda

At least 15 people died in western Uganda after their homes were buried in a landslide triggered by torrential rains, Qazet.az reports according tothe Red Cross, as emergency workers shovelled through mud in search of survivors.

Most of those killed were women and children, Uganda Red Cross spokeswoman Irene Nakasita said in a statement.
