High representative: "The EU Council will agree on new sanctions against Russia during the day"

"The Council of the European Union will agree on a new package of sanctions against Russia on October 5, that is, today."

Qazet.az reports with reference to TASS that this was stated by the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for foreign relations and security policy, Josep Borrell.

According to him, the war in Ukraine has entered a very dangerous stage. J. Borrel said that the European Union's support to Kyiv should continue in full.

The 8th package of EU sanctions against Russia is expected to be adopted today.
