Hope for more Mariupol steelworks evacuations

Russian troops have launched new attacks on the Azovstal steel works in Mariupol, after a group of about 100 civilians were evacuated, Qazet.az reports.

The UN and Red Cross hope to oversee more civilian evacuations early on Tuesday morning. Hundreds of non-combatants remain hold up underground at the sprawling factory site alongside Ukrainian fighters, forces there say.

"This includes dozens of children who are still in bunkers underneath the plant," National Guard commander Denys Shlega said.

Russian forces have been shelling the steel plant with "all kinds of weapons", he added.
