Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of Khojasan station of Baku Metro
On December 23, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the "Khocasan" station of the Baku Metro and the "Khocasan" electric depot.

Qazet.az reports that Zaur Huseynov, Chairman of "Baku Metropolitan" Closed Joint Stock Company, informed President Ilham Aliyev about the work done at the station and depot.

It was reported that the total length of Baku Metro lines is 40.7 kilometers. A total of 27 stations operate on the Red, Green and Purple lines of the metro.

It should be recalled that on April 19, 2016, the third - Purple line of the Baku Metro was inaugurated with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev. "Avtovazhzal" and "Memar Ajami" stations with the purple line have also been commissioned. Last year, on May 29, the third "8 Noyabr" station on this line was inaugurated.

It was noted that "Khocasan" station is the fourth station located on the Purple line. The total area of the complex is 4200 square meters, the length of the station platform is 144 meters. The station will play an important role in eliminating traffic problems of citizens moving from the direction of Lokbatan settlement and "Sadarak" Trade Center. Two escalators manufactured by the German company "ThyssenKrupp Fahrtreppen" were installed in this station. "Khocesan" station is located at the beginning of the line and will provide conditions for intensive movement of trains according to the needs of passengers. Also, since there is a rotating camera behind the "8 November" station, it will be convenient to adjust the interval.

It was reported that "Khocasan" electric depot is the second largest depot of Baku Metro and covers an area of more than 24 hectares. The first stage of the three-stage construction project has been commissioned.

Two drinking water reservoirs, two fire reservoirs, three inspection rooms and service rooms, a block-post, an electric substation, maintenance and technical inspection infrastructure have been created in the "Khojasan" electric depot.

Work on two more phases will be done according to demand as new stations and tunnels of the line are built. So, in the second stage, a utility room and a stop housing, a train washing chamber, a tire diagnostic complex, a fuel and lubricant warehouse, turning devices, a compressor station, and a boiler house for the repair and parking building will be built for the service of the moving train. In the third stage, the construction of the wagon repair and production building, administrative and household buildings, dispatcher control station and boiler room for wagon repair buildings, a technological platform with a lifting crane overpass is planned.

It should be noted that the construction of modern infrastructure in our country covers all areas, including the metropolitan area in the present era, when the importance of transport is especially increasing. At present, works in accordance with the conceptual development program of the Baku Metro are being continued rapidly. According to the program, in 2030, the total length of the capital's underground roads will reach 119.1 kilometers, and the number of stations will be increased to 76.
