Ilham Aliyev: "Training of young athletes must be ensured in an organized manner"

The development of sports in Azerbaijan is consistent. Because many of our athletes who participated in Baku 5 years ago did not participate in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya. So generations change, but our success remains constant, Qazet.az reports according to President Ilham Aliyev said this in his speech at the event dedicated to the sports results of 2022.

The head of state noted that we see development and success here as well, as the generations change, the experience of our outstanding athletes seems to be handed over to young athletes. In other words, young athletes who grow up in Azerbaijan will keep our sports fame high and this should be a constant process.

Emphasizing that the training of young athletes should be provided in an organized manner, the President of Azerbaijan said: "Recently, more purposeful activity is in sight in this field, especially selection work. Numerous events held in the regions will create greater opportunities for both selection work and attracting young people, children, and teenagers to sports divisions."
