In Azerbaijan, the draft on the prohibition of changing and copying the IMEI number of phones has passed the first reading.
According to Qazet.az reports the draft amendment to the "Telecommunications" law in this regard was discussed and accepted in the first reading at the plenary session of the parliament held today.
According to the amendment, in connection with the use of cellular (mobile) services, mobile devices must be registered in the manner determined by the relevant executive authority. In order to avoid the registration of a mobile device, changing or transferring a copy of the IMEI number of a mobile device (a number indicating a unique and uniquely created international identification (identification)), as well as the transfer of IMEI numbers by the mobile operator to mobile devices on the black page of the mobile device registration system (the IMEI numbers are matched white provision of telecommunication services (except for mobile devices on the page) is prohibited.
