"In the future, foreign tourists will enjoy the historical monuments of the city of Shusha and other territories of Azerbaijan freed from occupation."
Qazet.az reports that Rafal Poborski, the ambassador of Poland to Azerbaijan, said this at the "Historical-Architectural Heritage of Poland" exhibition held in Baku.
"I wish Azerbaijan success in the restoration of territories freed from occupation. I hope that tourists will enjoy the restored historical and cultural monuments in these lands in the future," the ambassador said.
The Polish diplomat drew a parallel between the destruction of Warsaw's historical heritage during the Second World War and the destruction of Aghdam during the 30-year occupation: "But what was destroyed, including the castles, was restored. I think that Polish experts can share their experience in this field with Azerbaijan."
Speaking about the exhibition, R. Poborski emphasized that it will show how rich Polish architecture is and will help to get to know the architectural pearls of the country more closely.
It should be noted that the exhibition is held in Baku within the framework of the "Architectural Masterpieces of World Countries" project. The goal is to get acquainted with the architectural features, styles, history, design and cultural heritage of different countries. This is the third event within the project.
