India will supply howitzers to Armenia
India will supply Armenia with 155 mm howitzer "ATAGS" of its own production.
Qazet.az reports with reference to "The Hindu" that this military equipment was ordered by "Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd", a subsidiary of "Bharat Forge Ltd".
It was reported that this is the first export of such artillery systems in the history of India.
According to information, the amount of the contract is 150 million dollars, the operation will be carried out within three years.
It was emphasized that "ATAGS" artillery units can hit a 48 km target.
It should be noted that this is not the first defense agreement between the two countries. Earlier, the Indian company "Solar Group" announced the conclusion of a contract for the purchase of "Pinaka" rocket launcher systems. According to information, Armenia will be the first buyer of this system.
Within the framework of the agreement, a discussion was held on the purchase of the Konkurs anti-tank missile of the Soviet-Russian model. Before that, the Indian publication "The Economic Times" reported that it was talking about weapons worth 260 million dollars. In addition, it was noted that the purchase of 80-mm artillery units, empty shells and the "Akash" anti-aircraft missile complex was discussed.
