It became known when Japan will receive the first batch of oil from Russia

Japan will soon receive the first batch of oil from Russia in more than six months.

Qazet.az reports with reference to TASS that this was reported by Bloomberg on Wednesday.

According to the agency, the Zaliv Baikal tanker, loaded on Wednesday with oil at the Sakhalin-2 facility in the Far East of the Russian Federation, is already heading to Japan. The neighboring country has not received Russian oil since May, the agency recalls.

The Sakhalin-2 project accounts for nearly 9% of Japan's liquefied natural gas (LNG) consumption. This volume is almost entirely used to generate electricity, providing 3% of its generation in the country. The Japanese government has repeatedly stated its extreme interest in the supply of LNG and oil from Sakhalin-2. With the consent of the United States and the European Union, they are temporarily removed from the effect of decisions related to the price ceiling on oil imports from the Russian Federation.
