Legislation in the field of horticulture in Azerbaijan should be improved, which in turn can improve the market against unfair imports.

Qazet.az reports that this was said by Jacek Vesierski, an expert of the project, at the closing ceremony of the "Support for the creation of business information system in rural areas" project.

According to him, the field of horticulture plays an important role in the expansion of the value chain in Azerbaijan: "80% of the exported agricultural products of the country are accounted for by horticultural products. Increasing the value chain in horticulture can lead to the development of the sector."

The expert noted that subsidies are given to this sector: "Subsidies contribute to the development of the agricultural sector. On the other hand, subsidies should eliminate the existing gaps in the agricultural sector."

J. Vesierski believes that there are global threats in the agricultural field, and global threats also affect the local economy: "In general, it is necessary to encourage farmers to produce high yields".
