It is the birthday of National Hero, Martyr Major General Polad Hashimov
Today is the birthday of Major General Polad Hashimov, the National Hero of Azerbaijan.

Qazet.az reports that 48 years have passed since the birth of P. Hashimov.

P. Hashimov was born on January 2, 1975 in the village of Vandam, Gabala district, and later moved to Sumgait city with his family. He received his secondary education first at school number 28 and then at school number 34 in the city of Sumgait. He graduated from Heydar Aliyev Higher Military School and became a soldier.

On July 14, 2020, Major-General P.Hashimov was heroically martyred while preventing the attack attempt of the Armenian Armed Forces during the fierce fighting in the direction of Tovuz. Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Karim Valiyev conveyed the news of his martyrdom to the public with deep sadness. On July 14, the body of Major General Polad Hashimov was first brought to Vandam settlement of Gabala region, where he was born, and then to Sumgait city, where he lived. The general was buried on July 15 in II Fakhri Khiyaban, along with Colonel Ilgar Mirzayev.
