It was proposed to review the powers of the Ombudsman in Azerbaijan

Azay Guliyev, a member of the Milli Majlis, suggested revising the powers of the Ombudsman in order to prevent the violation of labor rights in Azerbaijan.

According to Qazet.az reports, he said during the discussion of the draft amendments to the Constitutional Law "On Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan" that sometimes the handling of complaints to the Ombudsman does not go beyond observation.

He noted that it is necessary to increase the rights of the Ombudsman in court cases: "On the other hand, cooperation with members of specialized civil society should be taken seriously."
