Kazakhstan and Tajikistan have discussed the establishment of a joint venture to develop the Trans-Caspian international transport route connecting the two republics, Qazet.az reports reports citing Kazakh media.

Both countries believe that such an initiative will allow the transportation of cargo and oil to Europe via Azerbaijan.

Baku hosted the meeting between representatives of the two countries. The Kazakh representatives said in a statement that the establishment of the joint venture will "allow resolving issues through the establishment of tariffs and declaration of goods, the application of unified IT solutions and the integration of transit cargo on this route."

The Kazakh delegation also discussed with the Azerbaijani side the issues of unification of transport tariffs and synchronization of customs procedures to increase the volume of cargo transportation through international transport corridors.
