Lavrov: "If US rejects our proposals, we will report to President"

"Russia expects a written response to its suggestions on security guarantees," said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Friday at his annual news conference, Qazet.az reports.

As a response to the question on which steps will be taken by official Moscow, if the US side rejects Russian proposals on security guarantees, Russian top diplomat said: "We expect a written response to our proposals. Russia is not ready to wait forever. One month has passed from submission of our proposals until the Geneva meeting. The US could learn the proposals thoroughly over the period. We expect a response on a paper. We expect a response to every clause of our proposal. If there is any shortage in our proposals, they should add. If our proposals are rejected, certainly, we will assess the situation. We will report to President in this regard. We will act relevant to our interests. I do not want to guess now."
