Mercedes-Benz sell its plant in Russia

The German carmaker Mercedes-Benz will sell its car manufacturing plant in the Moscow region of Russia, Qazet.az reports according to Kommersant.

The buyer can be a Russian dealer of Avtodom company. Mercedes said that the company is considering various options for establishing a business in the Russian Federation.

Before that, it was reported that Mercedes-Benz distributor Mercedes-Benz Rus wanted to sell its property to one of the Russian dealers and discussed transferring the distributor's rights to them.

If a Russian company buys the plant, it will not be able to use it to assemble German cars, as this requires supplies from a large number of authorized component manufacturers.
