The purpose of the visit of Turkish National Defense Minister, Army General Hulusi Akar to Azerbaijan has been announced.

According to Qazet.az reports, the deputy head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Defense, lieutenant colonel Anar Eyvazov, informed about this.

According to him, the visit is carried out at the invitation of the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov.

"The Minister of National Defense of Turkey, Hulusi Akar, and other leading staff of the Turkish Armed Forces will visit Azerbaijan today to watch the joint exercises held in our country," A. Eyvazov said.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan-Turkey joint training is being held according to the agreement on cooperation in the military field concluded between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The training involving the personnel of different types of troops of the Azerbaijan Army and the Turkish Armed Forces, combat and special-purpose engineer-fortification equipment, as well as military aviation vehicles covers the city of Baku, as well as the territories of Astara, Jabrayil and Imishli regions.

According to the scenario, units of the Ground Forces, Air Force, Special Forces, Engineer Forces, Missile and Artillery Forces of the Azerbaijan Army are performing various training and combat tasks together with the military of the Turkish Armed Forces.

In the training, using modern combat methods, applying artillery, aviation and other types of troops in military operations, organizing their activities in interaction, building pontoon bridges to open a passage over rivers, landing in the depth of the conventional enemy, various tasks are also performed.
