Ministry of Health: Rotavirus infection is mostly transmitted through fecal-oral route

Akbar Guliyev, an expert of the Ministry of Health, spoke about seasonal infections and symptoms that spread among children.

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Health, the expert noted that rotavirus, adenovirus and influenza virus are among the infections typical for this season. Each of these diseases has its own characteristics.

"Rotavirus infection is mainly transmitted through the fecal-oral route and is an infectious disease of the gastrointestinal tract. At this time, the patient has complaints such as fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, weakness, loss of appetite. It is an infectious disease of the gastrointestinal tract and upper respiratory tract. Influenza is transmitted by airborne droplets and is a disease of the upper respiratory tract. It presents with symptoms such as high fever (38°C to 39°C), headache, runny nose, cough, sore throat, watery eyes, bone and muscle pain. The course of the disease is mostly mild. Certain exacerbations and complications may be observed during the course of the disease in children who are included in the special risk group and children under 1 year old.
