Monitoring of gas and electricity lines in Karabakh is proposed
It is suggested that the "Azerigas" Production Union of the State Oil Company (SOCAR) and "Azerenerji" OJSC conduct monitoring of expired gas and electricity lines leading to Khankendi.
Qazet.az report that deputy Hikmet Babaoglu made a speech with this proposal at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis held today.
"This is a very important issue, I think that this should be one of the demands of the members of the civil society. Because, as a result of the Armenians' attack on the nature of Azerbaijan, our water resources have decreased by 17% in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur economic regions. Outdated gas and electric pipelines can cause fires. Only 14% of the territory of Azerbaijan is covered by forest cover. If a fire occurs, it can cause an ecological disaster. Both organizations should conduct monitoring without wasting time," he said.
