It should be noted that the Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum is a great contribution to the modern urban planning process in the world, the urban planning model of Azerbaijan, especially in the post-crisis situation, is met with great interest.

The principles of sustainable urban development are of great value in the Great Return, restoration and construction works in the liberated lands after the 30-year occupation of Armenia. The destruction of cities on this scale has not happened anywhere in the world since the Second World War. During the occupation, 9 cities and hundreds of villages of Azerbaijan were wiped out. The city of Aghdam was destroyed to such an extent that foreign experts called it "the Hiroshima of the Caucasus". Azerbaijan implements modern urban planning in liberated areas, applies the concepts of "green energy" and "zero waste". Master plans of some liberated cities are already ready. The Master Plan of Shusha City is based on the preservation of its magnificent historical heritage. In Agdam, which will become the industrial center of the Karabakh region, a completely new city is being built, designed for tens of thousands of residents. Aghdam Industrial Park, with an area of 200 hectares, is already operating and is open to investors and entrepreneurs. The main goal in the reconstruction process is to build inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and villages in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals. Living and working conditions in new cities and villages will be unified.
