A new temperature record has been recorded in the Russian capital.
Qazet.az reports according to Russian media, +6.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Moscow on New Year's Eve.
This is the maximum air temperature on January 2 in the history of meteorological observations.
On January 1, in Moscow, the air warmed up to +4.5 degrees, thus breaking the record half a century ago. So, the previous record was set on January 1, 1973, when the air temperature was +4.2 degrees.
Forecasters said that at the end of the week the weather will change dramatically, the air temperature will drop below -20 degrees.
