Over 3 million COVID-19 cases registered worldwide in a week

For the first time since the end of September, the number of coronavirus infection cases for a week worldwide exceeded 3 million, Qazet.az informs, citing TASS that mortality from coronavirus has also increased: if no more than 50,000 deaths were recorded worldwide in the two previous weeks, then over the past seven days - 53,000.

Most infected with coronavirus are still registered in the United States, although the morbidity has fallen by almost 10% over the week there. Now the country registers about 70,000 cases per day (at the beginning of September - more than 190,000).

The UK is in second place - about 42,000 infections per day.

The third place is taken by Russia, where more than 30,000 infections have been confirmed daily since mid-October, and on Thursday, for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, this number exceeded 40,000.

The rate of spread of the infection is increasing throughout Europe. They are at their peak in Ukraine (over 26,000 infected per day), in Romania (about 16,000), Bulgaria (6,000), Latvia (3,200), and Belarus (2,000) and are increasing in countries, such as Italy, where the incidence rose immediately by a third, and in Germany.
