Pakistan launches direct flights to Azerbaijan
The first flight would depart from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on March 16
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced direct flights from Karachi and Lahore to Azerbaijan’s capital and commercial center, Baku, Qazet.az informs, citing Pakistani media.
According to details available with The Express Tribune, the state airline will operate two direct flights per week; one from Karachi and one from Lahore.
The first flight would depart from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport on March 16, and the other would leave Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport on March 19.
The national flag carrier has announced these flights over the longstanding demand of citizens of both countries, besides Pakistanis residing in the Azeri capital.
This move will enable Pakistanis to travel to the popular tourist destination directly from Karachi and Lahore.
