A group of paleoanthropologists led by specialists of the University of Winnipeg has found a new human species, Qazet.az informs, citing foreign media.

The new species, Homobodoensis, lived in Africa over 500,000 years ago, may have been the direct ancestors of modern humans.

The specialists have reanalyzed the African and Eurasian fossils.

According to new estimates, this species can be reclassified as the remains of Neanderthals.
