The Republic of Karakalpakstan is part of Uzbekistan. Earlier, Karakalpaks recorded video messages in which they expressed their disagreement with the proposed changes. On July 1, citizens of Karakalpakstan staged protest rallies in Nukus, the Karakalpak capital.
