The fifth panel was held within the VIII Global Baku Forum, dedicated to issues of public healthcare and vaccination, Qazet.az informs.

Speaking at panel discussions, former president of Israel, ex-Speaker of the Knesset Dalia Itzik noted Israel’s success in the vaccination process throughout the country. She stressed that the pandemic has affected all countries, but according to experts, vaccination is able to cope even with new strains of coronavirus.

First deputy minister of healthcare, Acting Minister of Health Teymur Musayev noted that from the first days of the pandemic, Azerbaijan had taken all the necessary measures to combat it, with special equipment brought in, additional hospitals equipped and opened for patients with COVID-19.

Musayev noted that 60% of the population over 18 years old have already been vaccinated in the country. “Azerbaijan was one of the first countries to join the vaccination campaign,” he added.

Assistant to the President of Tajikistan for Social Development and Public Relations Emomali Nasriddinzoda, in turn, spoke about the impact of the pandemic on the education system, including in Tajikistan. He said that the pandemic revealed the difficulties of organizing distance education, the lack of technologies that can replace full-time education. He noted that the most difficult thing is to organize distance learning for primary school students.

During the panel session, former Slovenian President Danilo Turk also made a video message, calling for the prevention of uneven distribution of vaccines around the world. He also noted the need to create an international health platform designed to consolidate efforts to prepare for future possible pandemics.
