Parviz Shahbazov: "Restoration work was possible in 2 HPPs with a total capacity of 6.5 MW in Lachin"

As a result of the return of the city and villages of Lachin, which were under the temporary control of the peacekeepers, to the control of Azerbaijan, it was possible to restore two hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 6.5 megawatts.

According to "Qazet.az reports", Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov said this in an article published in the official newspaper on October 20 "Energetics Day".

According to him, the restoration of 11 small hydroelectric power stations in almost two years will bring about 54 megawatts of production capacity to the energy system.

The minister said that the center of gravity in the transformation of Azerbaijan into a "green" growth country is mainly on Karabakh-East Zangezur as a "green energy" zone along with the Caspian Sea: "These geostrategically important places are also the sources of "green" energy production and export of Azerbaijan. In particular, the development of renewable energy in our country is expanding with multi-directional measures to create a "green energy" zone in 2022-2026 in the territories freed from occupation. This concept creates a clear picture for everyone, including investors, of a large-scale activity that will provide this region with clean energy."
