Passenger transportation in Azerbaijan increased by 37%
In January-October of this year, freight and passenger transportation in Azerbaijan increased by 12.6% and 37.4%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
Qazet.az reports that the State Statistics Committee has released information about this.
According to information, economic entities operating in the transport sector transported 176.7 million tons of cargo within 10 months. 57% of cargo was transported by road, 30.5% by pipeline, 8.7% by railway, 3.6% by sea, and 0.2% by air.
The volume of cargo transported by vehicles belonging to the non-state sector increased by 12.4%, and the specific weight of this sector in the total volume of transported cargo was 78%.
Transporters served 1,318.2 million passengers during the reporting period. 86.9% of passengers were transported by car, 12.7% by metro, and the rest by other modes of transport.
