Pope Francis appoints new ambassador to Turkey

Pope Francis appointed Polish monsignor Marek Solczynski as nuncio to Turkey on Wednesday, Qazet.az reports citing Anadolu Agency.

The Vatican said the Polish prelate worked as nuncio in Tanzania for the past five years and was now appointed as the papal ambassador to Turkey.

Solczynski also represented the Holy See in Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
