Qazet.az report  that President Ilham Aliyev expressed this opinion in his speech at the plenary meeting held on December 17 in Bucharest in connection with the signing ceremony of the "Agreement on strategic partnership in the field of development and transmission of green energy between the Governments of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary".

Noting that only one global energy company plans to invest in the production of 10 gigawatts of green energy in Azerbaijan, the head of state said: "Two days ago, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan signed a framework agreement with another global energy company. That company plans to invest in the production of up to 12 gigawatts of wind and solar energy in Azerbaijan. Thus, at least 3 gigawatts of additional transmission capacity will be created in the first phase of Azerbaijan's export."
