Qazet.az reports that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this at the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan National Urban Planning Forum in Aghdam on the theme "Sustainable Development Goals" and "New Urban Agenda" - as the leading force of recovery and reconstruction in the post-conflict period.

The head of state greeted the participants of the forum: "Welcome to Aghdama. I am very glad that we organized this forum here - in the place where the city of Aghdam was once located. As you can see now, there is no trace of the city. Aghdam was the largest city of Karabakh. It was not destroyed during the First Karabakh War, but during the years of occupation."

The President of Azerbaijan emphasized that the city was completely destroyed during the years of occupation, the stones of the buildings were stolen and sold: "Armenians used to keep pigs and cows in Juma Mosque. What you see in Aghdam can be seen in every city of the Karabakh region."

President Ilham Aliyev pointed out that the cities of Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Gubadli were completely destroyed.
