President Ilham Aliyev received the governor of Astrakhan province - UPDATE
On December 7, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the delegation led by the governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, Igor Babushkin.

Qazet.az reports that the head of state said that effective cooperation has been implemented with the Republic of Azerbaijan and separate provinces of the Russian Federation, including the Astrakhan province, and noted the role of this cooperation in the development of Azerbaijan-Russia relations. President Ilham Aliyev said that the bilateral relations with Russia are developing successfully in 2022 and emphasized the importance of mutual visits and the interregional forum held in Baku in this regard. Touching on the existence of traditional neighborly relations between Azerbaijan and Astrakhan region, the head of state expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of cooperation plans.

Expressing his gratitude for the kind words, Igor Babushkin said that the cooperation of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation with our country continues successfully, according to the results of the 9th of this year, he evaluated the 4-fold increase in cargo transportation as a good indicator of relations, and at the same time, he pointed out that the range of export and import products has expanded. Emphasizing the importance of the interregional forum held in Baku, the guest noted with satisfaction that the cooperation between the Astrakhan region and Azerbaijan contributed to the expansion of Azerbaijan-Russia relations.

At the meeting, the importance of the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the Astrakhan region was touched upon, and it was reported that a number of events will be held in Astrakhan next year in connection with the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader's birth.

During the conversation, issues of cooperation in the humanitarian field were also discussed.
