Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of the meeting held in Brussels in December 2021 with the Armenian prime minister under the auspices of EU Council President Charles Michel.
Emphasizing the importance of the Brussels agenda, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the significance of discussions and practical work to this end, and praised the support to be provided to Azerbaijan in the demining process, President Ilham Aliyev said while receiving the delegation led by EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus Toivo Klaar on December 21, Qazet.az informs.
The president underscored that the relevant agencies were instructed to conduct intensive negotiations on a cooperation agreement between the European Union and Azerbaijan and complete it as soon as possible. Reminding that more than 4,000 people went missing during the first Armenian-Azerbaijani war, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the importance of Armenia’s constructive cooperation as an outcome of the February 4 quadripartite meeting in Brussels 2022 at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron in defining the fates of the missing people and venues of mass graves where they were buried.
