Qazet.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev said this at the commissioning ceremony of the "Akademik Khoshbakht Yusifzade" tanker built at the Baku Shipyard by the order of the "Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping" Closed Joint Stock Company.

Pointing out that the foundation for the creation of this tanker was laid 9 years ago with the commissioning of the shipyard, the head of state said:

"I took that decision, we solved it. At that time, some people thought that it was not necessary. We already buy ships and tankers from other countries. But I knew it would be of great importance. Now we do not depend on anyone, we have both a professional team and experience. Therefore, all construction works here are carried out by local specialists. "We can build several tankers, dry cargo ships, Ro-Ro ships, ferries every year."

President Ilham Aliyev, who considers it very fair that the ship is named after academician Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh, said: "True, this is a rare case, perhaps I can say that it is the only case, that a ship is named after him during his lifetime. But that's fair. You know that I have great respect for you - both as a specialist, as a legendary oilman, and as a wonderful person. Look, the fact that you are here with us today inspires many people that even at this age a person is cheerful. His health is also in place and he inspires us all to do better things with his optimism."
