Qazet.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev made these comments in his speech at the opening of the international conference on "Along the Middle Corridor: geopolitics, security and economy" held at ADA University on November 25.

"I have worked with three presidents of Iran - Khatami, Ahmadinejad and Rouhani. In all these years, a situation similar to today's has never arisen. Never has Iran held two military exercises on our border within a few months. Never has it been so full of hatred and threats against Azerbaijan. the statement was not issued," the President said.

The head of state said: "We have always responded and will respond to any anti-Azerbaijani statement and action. That is why we had to conduct military exercises on the border with Iran to demonstrate that we are not afraid of them. "We will do our best to protect Azerbaijanis living in Iran. They are a part of our people."
