Production of the first national TOGG electric car has started in Turkey

In the Turkish city of Gemlik, the opening ceremony of the first mass-produced electric vehicle factory of the TOGG brand was held in the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The electric cars will be purchased first by 81 governors of Turkey, including the heads of Turkish diplomatic missions abroad, Deputy Minister of Transport Fatih Kacer said. General Director of TOGG, Gyurjan Karakash, said that by 2030, it is planned to collect about 1 million cars, the price of which varies between 43-54 thousand dollars.

The capacity of the new plant is designed to produce 170,000 electric cars per year. The first TOGG electric cars will appear in Turkey at the end of the first quarter of 2023 after the relevant certification.

TOGG will produce sedans and crossovers. According to the manufacturer, the latter accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds, charges up to 80 percent in half an hour, and can travel 500 km on a single charge.
