Today, passenger transportation prices in the country are twice as low as its cost.

Qazet.az reports that this was said by the Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rahman Hummetov.

According to him, the higher figures are given for the metro activity: "The cost of passenger transportation by railway is almost higher than the actual price. This is a general problem. In fact, the metro and railway are subsidized by the state. Bus activity is partially subsidized by the state." .

He emphasized that by maintaining the same bus prices, we see a decrease in the interest of the carriers: "There are serious discussions about this, an optimal option must be found. In general, 36% of the population in the country has limited access to transportation. This requires the expansion of our bus network. For this, the carriers are given this it is important to ensure that the field is profitable. We understand that the issues are disturbing the sensitive audience.
