Rauf Janbakhish oglu Abdullayev was awarded the 1st degree "Labor" order for his great services in the development of Azerbaijani musical culture.

Qazet.az report that President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order in this regard.

It should be noted that R.Abdullayev was born on October 29, 1937. In 1959, he graduated from the Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after U. Hajibeyov and in 1965 from the Leningrad State Conservatory in conducting. In 1965-1968, he was the conductor of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater named after M.F. Akhundov, in 1968-1984 he was the chief conductor, since 1984 he was the artistic director and chief conductor of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after U. Hajibeyov, in 1991-1999 He was the artistic director and chief conductor of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet Theater, a participant in important international music festivals and projects.
