Russia continues pressure on Mariupol steelworks - US think-tank

The US based Institute for the Study of War has released its latest update on Russia's offensive in Ukraine.

Qazet.az reports that in the update, it says Russian troops continue their pressure on the Azovstal steel works in Mariupol - where the last Ukrainian defenders of the city are located.

It adds that Russian forces will attempt to starve out the remaining defenders of the steel plant, and will not allow trapped civilians to evacuate.

The think-tank says Russia has turned to concentrate on attacks in the east, and that troops who have been drawn from the retreat in the Kyiv region are re-entering combat there.
