Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation, Qazet.az reports according to the Kremlin press service.

During the telephone conversation, Putin briefed on the special military operation in Ukraine, noted the principled approaches and assessments in this context, and explained in detail the main goals and objectives.

It was confirmed that Russia is ready for dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities and foreign partners to resolve the conflict. At the same time, attention was drawn to the ineffectiveness of attempts by Ukrainian forces to prolong the negotiation process, which they use to regroup their forces and means.

The presidents of Russia and Turkey stressed the importance of continuing relations between the diplomatic and military departments of the two countries. Vladimir Putin confirmed that Russia is ready to provide all necessary assistance for the safe evacuation of Turkish citizens from the war zone.

It was agreed to continue close contact at various levels.
