Over the past day, medical experts recorded 171,905 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, Qazet.az informs referring to Russian media.

The total number of registered cases in the country since the pandemic onset has reached 12,982,023.

To date, a total of 336,023 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 609 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 10,624,954.

Currently, there are over two million active cases in the country.

More than 396.25 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 5.75 million lives, though unable to cope with 315.07 million patients, who managed to recover.
