Russian media watchdog prepares two administrative protocols against Google

The Russian Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications prepared two administrative protocols in respect of US-based Google for failure to remove information prohibited in Russia, the regulator said on Thursday in its Telegram channel.

"On April 14, 2002, the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications prepared two administrative protocols in respect of US-based Google under Parts 2 and 4, Article 13.41 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses, for failure of the administration of the video hosting YouTube to remove materials recognized as prohibited by the Russian Office of Prosecutor-General and court judgments. The given protocols will be handed over to court shortly for review and fixing the amount of prices," the watchdog said, Qazet.az informs.

The video hosting ignores requirements of Russian laws and does not remove the illegal content, the authority said.
