Sabina Aliyeva: 'There are double standards in the world regarding human rights
"There are also double standards in the world regarding human rights," Sabina Aliyeva, the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) of Azerbaijan, who is on a visit to Turkiye, Qazet.az reports according to Report.
She emphasized that in meetings with all human rights organizations in the world, she regularly provides information, facts and evidence about Azerbaijani people whose rights have been violated for many years as a result of the occupation by Armenia, and tries to use every opportunity in this regard:
"We regularly bring these issues to the attention of our foreign counterparts at regional and international conferences and try to maximize the value of the international conference held in Turkiye from this point of view."
Aliyeva also emphasized that in some cases, "silence" has been shown by the world community regarding the violated human rights of Azerbaijanis:
"But you know that there are double standards in the world regarding human rights, too. Unfortunately, in some cases, we also encounter silence."
