State Commission: "There may be other remains of bodies under the mass grave in Edilli"

It is estimated that there may be the remains of other people who died in the First Karabakh war under the mass grave in Edilli village of Khojavend district.

Qazet.az reports according to Zaur Ismayilov, member of the State Commission on Prisoners and Missing and Hostage Citizens.

According to him, excavations will continue after the currently discovered remains are removed from the general cemetery.

"Not only in the territory of this mass grave, but in the entire Khojavend region. These works will continue when other areas liberated from the occupation are cleared of mines," he said.

He stressed that the remains of 12 people believed to be members of the Azerbaijani army will be examined for identification and handed over to their relatives.

Z. Ismayilov said, "However, considering that 30 years have passed since the deaths of these people, this case can be postponed."
