State Committee suggests tightening legislation on violence against women

"Suggestions on amendments on legislation regarding violence against women have been sent to relevant bodies," Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Republic of Azerbaijan Bahar Muradova told journalists, Qazet.az reports.
B. Muradova has noted that it can not be adopted with willing of just State Committee: "Relevant bodies should express an agreed position in this regard. Only after it given suggestions may be sent to Azerbaijani Parliament. These suggestions are now at a stage of agreement. These suggestions contain increase of responsibility in accordance with the degree of violence. Bringing to criminal responsibility is also among them. There are suggestions on taking other preventive measures too."
