Britain's Gary McKee completed his 365th marathon for 2022 on New Year's Eve, covering 15,390 km.

McKee completed his last run of the year in Cumbria, northern England.

The 53-year-old worker at the Sellafield nuclear complex usually covered the 42km 195m distance in the morning to get to work on time. The main goal of the project was to raise funds for charity. During the year, Mackie raised £1 million (US$1.2 million) for the two organisations.

In total, the marathoner used 22 pairs of sports shoes that he sold at auction within 12 months.
