The condition of the Pope Emeritus has worsened
The health of Benedict XVI, who has the status of the honorary Pope of Rome, has deteriorated in recent hours.

Qazet.az reports with reference to TASS that the head of the press service of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni, said this on Wednesday.

According to him, the situation of Benedict XVI is related to his age.

"Pope Francis has asked for prayers for him. He is constantly under the supervision of doctors," it was said.

It should be noted that the German cardinal and prominent theologian Josef Ratsinger ascended the papal throne after the death of his predecessor John Paul II in 2005, taking the name Benedict XVI. In 2013, he became the first pontiff to renounce the papacy in 600 years. Benedict, who was 85 years old at the time, explained his decision by not having the power to rule the Roman Catholic Church. He lives in the Vatican.
