The Council of Europe has chosen Azerbaijan as the best wine tourism route
At the award ceremony of the "Iter Vitis" tangible and intangible winemaking cultural route created by the Council of Europe and the Institute of European Cultural Routes, the wine route of Azerbaijan won the nomination "The best developing wine tourism product".
Qazet.az reports that the State Tourism Agency (DTA) released information about this.
It is reported that the awards given in various categories at the award ceremony held annually in the province of Sambuca di Sicilia, Italy, aim to promote wine heritage and wine tourism, as well as sustainable tourism types, in the member countries of the Iter Vitis international network.
It should be noted that the "Iter Vitis" winemaking cultural route, which has been operating since 2009, promotes the culture of viticulture and winemaking, being a certified cultural route of the European Council.
Since 2019, Azerbaijan has been accepted as a member of the "Iter Vitis" international network, which includes winemaking routes of 20 countries. In 2020, on the initiative of Azerbaijan, the "Iter Vitis Caucasus" wine route was created as the first innovative transnational route.
